TarpiD is the first manually curated database that aims to catalogue published piRNA:gene interactions and their functions, which are predicted computationally or validated experimentally by adopting different methods. The methods include validations by direct methods, such as luciferase reporter assay, etc. and by indirect methods, such as reciprocal expression of piRNA and target duo through RT-PCR, WB, or RNA decay assay, microarray, and RNA seq etc.
